Sweep & Service Package
Multi-point Check & Service
In addition to your standard sweep the Sweep & Service Package will include a multi-point check, service and clean of all the important parts and workings of your woodstove, including:
- Remove baffle plate and any other internal parts for a thorough clean & vacuum
- Inspect stove carcass & parts for cracks, and stove panel joins and welds
- Carry out a smoke, draw and leak test
- Check door seals, hinges and handles
- Check glass seals & gaskets
- Check firebricks for cracks, breaks and damage
- Carry out minor repairs where needed (Full re-roping, re-glazing and replacement firebricks charged separately).
- Check stove pipe connections and joins. Minor repairs where necessary
- Check carbon monoxide monitor / alarm for poistion and function
- Check and clear external air vent (where fitted), inside and out
- Moisture meter test sample sample log fuel used and advise
- Issue Certificate of Service valid for warranty and insurance requirements
Price: From £125 for the Sweep & Service package. Price will depend on stove size and condition. For a medium sized stove in reasonable condition the package price is £150. For a large stove in poor condition allow £175
Please note: For the services below, I.E. Restoration, Re-rope, Glass and Firebricks: While these can often be carried out with a sweep visit they will need to be booked in advance, as specific parts and materials may need to be ordered. If they are carried out without a sweep, a callout charge may be added, depending on the work and distance. Sometimes it may be better, and cheaper, to bring a stove door into one of our associate company showrooms and leave it with us.
Restoration and Re-spray
The next stage up from a Sweep & Service is renovation of your stove with a respray in high temperature stove paint, either the complete stove or just the stove door(s), which can give it an impressive facelift and new lease of life. Ask for a renovation when you book
Price: From £45 for a small stove. Allow £35 for medium sized door only. The 2 doors above were £45 each.
Door seal re-roping
Door rope seals wear out over time often meaning the door will allow excess air into the stove making it impossible to close down and control properly. We can either supply the materials for you to replace it yourself DIY, or you can leave it to us. Just ask when you make your booking
Price: From around £30 for a small door
Woodstove Glass Replacement
Replacement glass can either be ordered for a specific stove, if you know the exact make and model, or can be cut to size if it is a standard rectangular piece. If it is non-rectangular (e.g. rounded top or convex) we will need the make and model to order it. Sometimes it can be cut to match a template. Please contact us to discuss
Price: From £25 for a small glass, £45 medium. Plus fitting (or DIY). Large and non-standard glass can be expensive. The convex, curved piece shown in the picture was unique to that stove and over £200
Replacement Firebricks and Parts
Replacement firebricks and most parts can usually be found for your woodstove. Firebricks can wear out, crack and break over time. A crack in the brick is usually OK to continue use but if the brick is no longer protecting the body of the stove it will need replacement. Please contact us to discuss
Price: From £10 for small bricks, as above. Plus fitting (or DIY). Complex bricks for larger stoves can be quite expensive. A full set for a large stove could be £200 or more. Plus fitting (or DIY)
